People of Tularosa and others who have historic properties mark your calendars for an initial classroom presentation by Gerry Raymond, specialist in documenting and recording historic structures and completing National Register nominations, scheduled for March 30th in Tularosa at Manos y Mentes building at 216 Granado Street, Tularosa. Gerry will provide instruction to those who desire to learn how to complete an architectural form for your historic property. He will have time to take a quick look at a few properties to determine if the property possesses the qualities required to be considered under the State and National Registers. He will instruct you how to gather and use historic documents to further demonstrate your property’s historical associations as part of the nomination process. This meeting is free to attend to help you get started. At follow-up meetings, Gerry will review and provide assistance. Donations will be accepted to help support Jornada Research Institute’s various programs. Gerry will schedule times with anyone who wishes to have him visit their property to share his expertise in completing the forms, and help with writing and editing your nomination packet. This class is being co-sponsored by the Tularosa Arts and History Council.
