Natural and Cultural Wonders of Peru
(April 4 to April 11, 2023), with Lake Titicaca

Through JORNADA RESEARCH INSTITUTE’S JOURNEYS OVERSEAS PROGRAM (specializing in making education awesome), we have designed a tour from coastal deserts to the high Andes with an optional visit to Lake Titicaca. Features archaeological and historical sites, cultural experience, and the best of Peru’s natural settings. Tour includes:

  • Lima city sights and districts, National Archaeology Museum, ruins of Huaca Pucllana, Puruchuco, Cajamarquilla and the archaeological citadel of Pachacamac.

  • Cuzco city sights, Plaza del Armas, Sacsayhuaman and Koricancha temple.
  • Tour the Sacred Valley to visit Awanacancha, Ollantaytambo and Pisac ruins and market.
  • Hike the Inca Trail (one day trek) to Machu

Picchu, visiting Incan ruins along the way or

take the Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes for a tour of Machu Picchu the following day.

  • After Machu Picchu, return to Cuzco and ready to return to Lima or continue to Lake Titicaca, visiting the site of Raqchi enroute to Puno and tour Uros Island and learn about their floating islands and life at 12,500 ft above sea level.

The tour is under the direction of David Greenwald, who will advise you regarding each day’s activities and needs. Most tours will be guided by local experts, tour guides associated with specific sites, or researchers working at sites.

Tour fees include 7 or 9 nights in a 4 Star Hotel in each of our overnight stops, airport transfers, entrance fees to sites and museums, ground transportation for excursions, all breakfasts, five lunches, and three dinners. The Inca Trail one-day hike is considered difficult depending on your physical condition but worth a day of exertion.  A day pack is needed, good hiking shoes and rain gear. Cool temperatures are expected at elevations between 7000 and 11,500 ft. More information will be provided upon request.

Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine ruins, plus Trajan’s Market and the Imperial Fora.
