On Saturday, Oct 25, Jornada Research offered a tour of the Rio Tularosa project area. the tour was led by JRI President David Greenwald. The tour began at the office (23323 Hiway 70), east of Tularosa at 10:00. After a quick briefing they hiked down to the river and crossed it. the hike continued through the vegetation to the first sites. After lunch, they visited some of the acequias and historic sites located along them and then a photo op of Germany Falls (or perhaps better known locally as Skinny Dip Falls). Later in the afternoon they visited the great kiva site (Creekside Village) and the historic ruins found there believed to be part of the James West Ranch.
