On Sunday, Nov. 15, we will be meeting at Three Rivers Petroglyph Site parking lot at 7:00 a.m. at  sunrise. We will be looking for and discussing the solar animation of images on stones and discussing ethnographic and cultural landscapes for the day. Please be prepared to pay a $5 fee for day use of the site maintained by the Bureau of Land Management.

Bring a broad brim hat and sunglasses, sunscreen, long sleeve shirts, long pants, sturdy walking boots, water, light snacks/lunch. A special solar event on this day will take place between 1 and 3 pm after a lunch break under shade about half way to this site.

Please be advised: We will be staying on the well-maintained public trail, however, there are points that are challenging. Walking sticks are a good idea.

Remember that directional compasses are distorted by the iron content in the surface and will need to be compensated for. And photography can be difficult due to the contrast of light and dark on each image. Bring notebooks.
