Tularosa Meeting Point
Hello Members and Supporters:
In hopes that this beautiful weather will continue, we are scheduling two more days of field work at Creekside Village, on Sunday April 2nd and Sunday April 9th. Our last field day was March 4th and it was a perfect day. Let’s hope for more of the same. Please visit our website to see posts and updates about other activities that are planned, have occurred, and generally catch up with JRI. We are also asking for comments from our members, something no too lengthy, but also comments about your experiences with Jornada Research, suggestions for new events, tours, or presentations, and constructive criticism. You can send your comments to me (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Jeff Hanson (email@example.com) and your submissions will be included in the upcoming newsletter (for all to review). We look forward to your comments.
I also want to thank all of you who have renewed your membership recently, including replies from January, February and March. If you are not sure when your annual dues should be paid, please email me and I’ll be able to tell what month they are due.
If you plan to join me at Creekside on either day, please plan for a variety of weather conditions. April can be unpredictable, dress for cool or hot temps, wind, and sunshine. As usual, bring gloves, and a hat doesn’t blow away. We intend to continue efforts in the kiva (removing the fill from the SE ¼ to expose the floor, expose the bench, and hopefully find evidence of the entryway). Our previous sessions in the kiva were very productive as we now have about half of the floor in the SE ¼ exposed better definition of the bench. We also found what may be another main support posthole (too be determined after we have finished clearing the SE ¼). Let’s meet at the “y” in Tularosa at 9:00 am (old gas station at the intersection of US 54 and US 70). Please RSVP me by replying to this email if you are planning on joining us so I have an idea of how many to expect.
I have attached a membership form (if your membership has expired or is about to) and the Waiver form that each participant needs to complete (if you have already completed one, you need not complete another). Thank you to everyone who has renewed your membership last month. We really appreciate the support. And, welcome new members.
We also have Volumes 1 and 2 (collections of papers from the Tularosa Basin Conferences) available for sale. Volume 1 is $25.00 ($22.50 with current membership) and Volume 2 is $20.00 ($18.00 with current membership). Please include $5.00 for postage. The order form is also attached.
We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at upcoming events. We thank you for your interest and support. Please feel free to share this information with your friends and associates.
Watch for more announcements in the weeks ahead and from other JRI Research Associates. Thank you, Dave
