Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum

For those who missed it the first time around, the Jornada Institute, in conjunction with the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces, is pleased to announce another showing of the award-winning film, “Helluva Way to Treat a Soldier.” It is about the cold case investigation of the looting of the historic Fort Craig cemetery, the archaeological recovery of human remains, many of them soldiers, and the subsequent re-burial of all human remains and associated artifacts at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. These events took place between 2005-2007 and reflect dedicated work and cooperation between the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, federal, state, and local law enforcement, archaeologists and the National Cemetery Administration.
